A Canadian study visa grants international scholars access to the best educational institutions in Canada. The Canadian study visa is a type of Electronic Travel Authorization (eTa) or another form of visitor visa. Study visas are easy to get because your Canadian school handles the application process. Regardless, you need a study permit as well to school in Canada. Your study visa must either come with a study permit and/or an eTa before your resumption date.
International students with a valid student visa can school in any Designated Learning Institution (DLI). Schools that haven’t been authorized as DLIs cannot approve their foreign students for the study visa. The visa is your permit to school, live, and sometimes work in Canada until your program ends. When you get enrolled in a DLI in Canada, you can start planning to school, live, and work here. You must meet the following requirements to keep your study visa active:
Foreign students coming to Canada with study permits and visas must meet the following criteria:
International students looking to school here in Canada must provide proof of being financially capable of covering their tuition and living costs. You must come to Canada with enough funds to cater for yourself while schooling. Foreign students with family members accompanying them must also have enough funds to cover everyone. There are two types of proof of funds attached to the study permit and visa:
