The Express Entry system allows foreign immigrants to access a faster way of coming into Canada. It is a stress-free and “express” way of migrating into the country without going through other tedious immigration channels. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements to get into the express entry pool. The system shuffles suitable candidates and offers them a chance at a new life in Canada.
One advantage of the express entry system over other immigration channels is the access to permanent residency. Most foreign immigrants wait for up to a decade to attain permanent residency in Canada. The Canadian express entry system makes you eligible for a PR card as soon as you enter Canada. There are different streams of applications under the express entry program. We’d dive deeper into these streams as we continue.
The Canadian Express Entry program is a different kind of immigration system pivoted towards the economic growth of Canada. This system manages the immigration of skilled and qualified foreign immigrants looking to migrate to Canada. Foreign nationals with the right skills and qualifications are needed in Canada annually. Applicants that meet the express entry system requirements can apply to one of three streams.
Each stream has specific requirements expected from each candidate. You can apply as a Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trader, or the under the Canadian Experience Class. To enter the express entry system under these programs, you must have the minimum requirements. Applicants into these streams get accepted based on their age, education, work experience, and language ability. Let’s discuss each stream
Requirements for CEC are more direct and specific. Candidates entering A jobs or NOC O positions must have CLB 7. Applicants migrating for NOC B jobs must score CLB 5 to qualify for the Canadian Experience Class. Everyone regardless of their occupational groups must have a minimum of 12-month work experience (either full-time or part-time). Note that only candidates with approved work experience by the NOC would qualify for CEC.

Foreign Skilled traders must have a minimum of CLB 4 for writing and reading and CLB 5 (as a fluent speaker and listener). These are the language proficiency requirements for applicants under the FST program. Applicants must also have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in their trained skills. You must be a certified trader in your field with certifications verifiable by a territorial authority in Canada. Your full-time or part-time employment must be in the last 5 years.
Wondering how to go about your CEC application? Follow these two steps to begin:
STEP ONE: Fill out the Online Express Entry Assessment Form
Check the website for the express entry assessment form. Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements on skills, language proficiency, work experience, and age. If everything checks out at this point, contact a representative from Oye Immigration to guide you through the submission process. We’d ensure your application stands a chance to make it through to the express entry pool. Only then can you be sure of your permanent residency status.
STEP TWO: Invitation by the Government
The Canadian government shuffles through the express entry pool applications for the best candidates. Applicants that meet the expected criteria get invited for permanent residency application by the government. You only have 60 days to respond to the invitation letter. Your Express Entry approval would help you fast-track the permanent residency process within six months. Applicants can always reapply when they do not get an invitation.
Yes, you can. All you have to do is to submit your application to the express entry pool. If you meet the requirements, you’d get an invitation to submit
